give grace

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4-7 NIV

For those in the church, made alive in Jesus with God working in us, our lives, our jobs here in this first life, are to show off God’s grace.

If someone asks me what I do for a living? I could simply say, give grace. (Feels like I’m not very good at it yet; perhaps that’s the reason I’m still here.) I could say that I get to point out the grace of God in others, so that they can unlock that and unleash it on an unbelieving world.

If someone asks you what you do for a living, what can you say?

Do works of grace. Show off God’s grace. Share what God has given us in His grace. Recount all the ways God has demonstrated grace, and let’s celebrate that.
