All good

“Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; You cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do You tolerate the treacherous?” (Habakkuk 1:13 NIV)

One thing we can be assured of. One thing we can hold as true and inviolable. God is good. He is only good. He is all good. That means that everything about Him is good and anything that is good in this world comes from Him. The presence of evil is not of God, and it poses no challenge or threat or enticement to Him.

“When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone” (James 1;13 NIV)

When we see evil in the world, when we experience the evil welling up in ourselves or drawing us towards temptation, that’s not God.

It’s God that is the way out.
